A few weeks ago I met up with the artist Joe Vollan. It was a hot day so we set up in the backyard and had some beers. Then took some photos.

Tacoma Portraits

I recently headed down to Tacoma to take a couple portraits of artists as part of my ongoing series. Jeremy Gregory has a studio space downtown with an entrance right onto the sidewalk. I set up my background and lights at the front entrance so that people walking by could stop and watch the shoot. After about 20 minutes of shooting I invited in three really enthusiastic viewers.

Here are some images from the shoot:

Portrait Series

Over the past few months I’ve been working on a new series of portraits. These people are artists, writers, and all around interesting people. Here are a few.

This is Bob. He’s a tribal and folk art dealer.

This is Henry, he makes murals that you can see all over Seattle.

This is Johnny. He’s writing a book about the early years of the Beatles.

Headshots and Branding

I recently did some headshots for a local realtor, Joseph Witt. It sounded like an interesting job since Joseph wanted imagery to re-brand himself in a way that didn’t conform to the average corporate portrait on white. We found some interesting locations with lots of natural light and got some good images in just 90 minutes.

Washington Bus

I recently did some head shots for my friends at Washington Bus.  These guys are a youth focused get out the vote organization based in Seattle. Featured here is their mascot Vote Bot.

Bicycling Magazine Shoot

Here are some outtakes from a recent shoot for Bicycling Magazine. This is a portrait of Ed Viesturs. Ed is a world renowned mountaineer, best known for summiting the planet’s 14 mountains over 8000 meters all without bottled oxygen.

Politics and History

This is an outtake from a shoot for the Association of Washington Cities Magazine. This is of retired Washington State Secretary of State, Ralph Munro, and statue of pioneer Marcus Whitman taken at the state capital in Olympia, WA. Featured also: Derek Matheson- Covington, WA city manager.
